I've decided to embark on the next phase of my spiritual journey online. I joined Twitter the other day, and immediately started following all of the people that have been inspiring me over the years. It's only been a few days, and I am stunned by how many amazing, like-minded individuals are out there whom share my interests and are already fueling my creativity.
In a few days, I will begin a 30 day meditation challenge. I will be documenting it here and on Twitter.
The first step I have taken toward achieving this goal (and all other goals in my life) is going to bed on time. I have been writing in my Gratitude Journal since the beginning of February. It is a delightful nighttime routine that has made falling asleep relatively easy. I suffered from insomnia for about four years until this past fall. I am hoping this practice of being grateful filters out its goodness into every facet of my life. It truly touches me at my core.
The next step I have taken is creating my morning routine. I wrote down the things I would want to do on a daily basis every morning:
Meditate - for a five minute minimum
Movement - yoga,dance, stretching
Reading - chosen book of the month
Breakfast - I will eat breakfast without fail... so this one is easy
I am excited to embark on this meditation journey in an effort to embed the practice permanently into my morning habits. I have meditated daily before, but I have not documented it, nor have I been super strict with myself. I do think five minutes a day is attainable. To cap off the end of this 30 day meditation challenge, I will be going to a meditative retreat in the Catskills during the last weekend of March.
Looking forward to being present. ;-)
